He loved us so much that He was willing to die for us. Further, I have also heard people then say such things as the strange concept that God sends people to hell because it is the loving thing to do. Eventually, the only thing left to talk about is that God is love and He loves you just the way that you are. When we look at the attributes of God, we understand that God created us because He is love.

When we look at a passage such as John , we understand that because God is love, He loved us and sent His Son to be the atoning sacrifice. Notice that a passage like this does not say that because God is holy, He sent His only Son.

In fact the passage makes it clear that He did not send His Son because He is holy. If He had, the Son would come to condemn the world. God sends the Son out of love. Christ is the propitiation for our sins because God is holy. God is a righteous judge and He will judge according to His righteousness.

In Christ, there is no condemnation and nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Rom. However, for those who are not in Christ they remain under the wrath of God.

When we confess the unity of the divinie essence, we are making an assertion of the simplicity of the divine essence. He is not a compound of pieces, parts, or various elements. I think that those that are in Christ God loves them unconditionally. So in that sense God loves the sinner but hates sin, and as a result he disciplines sinners. But this love for sinners only applies to believers that sin. With regard to the unbeliever, even though God so love them that he gave his only begotten son John , we can not say that God loves them in the same sense.

The unbeliever is given up to his own desires of the flesh at some point as Romans 1 teaches. And Hebrews speaks about God disciplining believers, but God does not discipline the unbeliever but instead punishes the unbeliever. But for believers we can comfortably tell a believer that God loves him but also that God hates his sin. So that God loves sinners and hates sin is applicable to believers in my opinion, because his wrath is propitiated through Christ.

God so loved the world means that God will save those that by faith alone appropriate for themselves the righteousness of Christ, and those that do not will be condemned for their sin. A God of love and justice can never love unrepentant unbelievers, he hates them, this is why he commands them to repent. God certainly does not delight in the death of the wicked, he weeps over Jerusalem, but this does not mean he loves the wicked, he only loves him if he turns from his wickedness, and God delights when a sinner turns from his wickedness, it is the repentant sinners he delights in that he loves, he does not love those that he weeps over but instead he laments over their disobedience, he does not love the unrepentant sinner, even though God is unhappy and weeps over them this is because they grieved God.

When God loves somebody he does not weep over them, he prepares a feast as he did for the prodigal when he came back home. Away with the nonsense of universal objective justification that God loves every man unconditionally, God is justice and his love is not at the expense of his justice. To preach love outside of Christ is nothing but what pagan religions do and to to preach love to those that are not in Christ is to deceive them and preach paganism as all other religions do.

An unbeliever needs to be told that the wages of sin are death and hell is his destination unless he repents, not that God loves him unconditionally. Let it be clear God love nobody, not believers, for the sake of believers, he loves them for his own sake Ezekiel , see also Ezekiel and Ezekiel God loves everybody unconditionally for the sake of the sinner is one of the worst blasphemies that can be preached, and yet the heresy of universal objective justification has resulted in this blasphemy being preached by lutheran pastors every Sunday.
